“Hope for us is like a beam of light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes, with the economic situation as it is in Zim you can loose all hope. But we hope to encourage people that there is always something to look forward to. With Love Foundation was founded by three girls who wanted to create a connection between the haves and the have-nots. In Zimbabwe there is a big gap and that gap is too big. The idea was to connect these two groups. Whether it is something small like the donation of clothes or simply giving your time, we wanted to create a way for people to get involved. There are many working professionals who don’t get involved with the community at large. That is where we come in. You don’t have get your hands dirty. You can come to a quiz night, have fun but still give back to the community. That’s what I want people to know.” – Winnie Ncube (staff member and volunteer of With Love Foundation)
With Love Foundation organise a quiz night every Monday at 6:30pm at Pariah State Borrowdale, the proceeds of which go towards the foundations’ soup kitchen.
The With Love Foundation have created something rather special. The outcome of the quiz is twofold: free, healthy, nutritious and appetising meals for homeless individuals and families and secondly they are cultivating a culture of socially engaged, racially and culturally integrated young professionals making a difference to those less fortunate. It is truly one of the most valuable social movements at play in Harare. It is inspiring to see educated youth coming together, sharing ideas and generating solutions to the problems of Zimbabwe. The foundation has a driving force of woman behind the movement, that in itself is another reason why we so appreciate With Love Foundation.
With Love Foundation is a non-profit community engagement organisation that pursues sustainable community engagement solutions geared towards urban challenges and target groups. With Love Soup Kitchen Project remains the flagship project of the organisation. To date, the organisation has sustained itself through a volunteer human resource base and ad-hoc support from supportive corporate entities and local philanthropists.
